Well today I had I very funny moment! My good friend Steven has one of the worst cases of forgeting things. Today he realized something... we were in youth group when suddenly he yelled out... "Hey Christmas is this month!" Now I'm not one to judge but... Steven there were Christmas decorations in the main display at wal*mart in SEPTEMBER!!!! Hello! Where have you been buddy? Well I must confess... It has seemed kind of low key this year... Or is that just me?
Here is my dilima.....
(READER WARNING!!! THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS OPINIONS BASED ON PERSONAL BELIEFS THAT LIKE IT OR NOT I HAVE. IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY THIS. GOOD! IF YOU AGREE BETTER!)

Okay so here we go....
(a little background information...... every year at Christmas our senior class goes out and gets a Christmas tree to decorate and display in the commons..... last year our new principal said that if we had a tree it had to be called the giving tree because the chrismas tree was intruding on other religions....)
So anyway, I was walking to class one day and the hallway smelled very much like a fresh cut Christmas tree because we had just erected a monsterous 25-30 foot pine tree in the commons. When I entered class I said these words "Wow that is a huge christmas tree out there!" My teacher looked at me and said "Patrick you can't call it a christmas tree." I was shocked! So me being the comedian I am I told my instructor....
"Do you like Valintines day?" The teacher said "Yes." I replied...
"You demand that I say "Happy Holiday's" to you so that I don't offend you. But when Valintines day comes around everyone says happy valintines day. No one goes "OOPS DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE!" I kept going.... "So the only reason it offends you is that the word CHRIST is in CHRISTmas. Fine, but look at what Christmas is. It is a time of giving to others. Santa Claus (Saint Nicolas) did exist, he was actually a catholic saint who would give to families that were in need around this time of year." I continued.... "Christmas is about giving to those you LOVE and have COMPASSION for. It's the one time of the year where people start giving and not taking. We are less selfish, we used to be more kind at this time of the year but we've lost it. We used to say MERRY CHRISTMAS!! To everyone! We didn't care about what religion they were. We did it because it was GOOD for america." I concluded. "Christmas is a time of giving. you can tell me that I can't call it a Christmas tree and I'm fine with that. I'll call it a giving tree because I believe with every bone in my body that on December 25 a child was GIVEN to me and the world and then GAVE his life for mine. So you're right it should be called a giving tree. But in reality you can't tell me not to call it a Christmas tree. Why should I be sensative to your "religion' (or lack there of) and let you trample over mine. So Merry Christmas! And if you have a problem with my opinion, I could care less."

So, fellow men and women of Christ stand up! For once stand up, People in China are being put in jail and killed for having A PAGE of the bible! And you wont even say Merry Christmas? Say MERRY CHRISTMAS! BECAUSE IT IS!
